The salt and sand will be flying, and the racing will be fierce next February when the historic motorcycles return to South Australia’s iconic Sellicks Beach. More than 140 bikes and sidecars, built before 1963, will be stirring up the sand, and memories, at next year’s Sellicks Beach Historic Motorcycle Races which will run over two days. Sellicks Beach, 50 km South of Adelaide, with its bed of stabilising pebbles under the sand, became the go to place for speed record attempts from early in the 20th century. Apart from a break of a few years during the Second World War, the Levis Motorcycle Club ran the event every year through to 1957. In 2017 the Club brought the bikes back to Sellicks Beach and the historic motorcycle races have become an important and popular bi-annual event. Sitting at the gateway to the McLaren Vale Wine region, Sellicks Beach presents the ideal place to come for a late summer visit and take in the sights and great beach racing....Whitsundays Accommodation welcomes Sellicks Beach Historic Motorcycle Races in Aldinga Beach, we provide a friendly relaxing destination for you to visit.
